There was lots of excitement Saturday morning at 8:30am, October 20th, as the Baskin Real Estate Specialists’ moving truck rolled into Stone Mill subdivision full of pumpkins. Children and parents were already waiting to make their selection. Floyd and Jerri McNair, residents of Stone Mill and members of the Baskin Real Estate Specialists of McGraw REALTORS, handed out pumpkins nearly nonstop for two hours. Neighbors, young and old, felt a sense of community as children hand picked just the right pumpkin.

This workshop will focus on solutions for preparing tomorrow's workforce today. Educators are well aware of the importance of preparing all students to take their place in the workforce of tomorrow. Those attending this workshop will learn how to utilize WorkKeys assessments and the KeyTrain curriculum to prepare students to receive Oklahoma's Career Readiness Certificate, which is one of the most rapidly gowing foudnational skill certifications programs in the country.
If you are not familiar with WorkKeys or Key Train - you will be hearing more about these programs in the near future. They are part of a program that will help assess and train workers to have the talent necessary for existing jobs, but the program also helps employers make reliable decisions about hiring, training and program development. This will be a statewide initiative and the Broken Arrow Chamber's Workforce Development Committee is strategizing to put Broken Arrow at the lead of the pack in employee certification and employer job profiles.
